Providing Cleaning Services (and so much more!) to Cancer Patients
Cleaning for a Reason is nonprofit that provides free home cleaning to patients battling cancer. When cancer makes life at home difficult, the local cleaning partner volunteers their time provide cleaning services, to support cancer patients and their families.
We are proud to be that partner, serving Anne Arundel County.
Our goal is to remove the burden of cleaning and allow those recovering from surgery, in active treatment, or in hospice to focus on their health and spend precious time with loved ones.

What is cleaning for a reason?
Cleaning for a Reason is a non-profit organization that partners with local cleaning businesses to provide free home cleaning services to cancer patients.
Always Sparkle Cleaning Service is dedicated to supporting individuals and families in our community that have been affected by cancer by providing cleaning services at no cost to the patient. We believe in the power that a clean living environment can have on a patient’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Who qualifies for the service?
Services are available to individuals and families with any type of cancer. Patients are eligible if they are recovering from cancer surgery, in cancer treatment, or in hospice care.
How much does the service cost?
There is no cost to the patient. We donate our time and efforts as our way of giving back to our community and to those in need.
I am a cancer patient. How do I apply?
You should apply online at cleaningforareason.org/patients/. You will be asked to submit patient information such as your email, name, and address. You will be contacted by Cleaning for a Reason if you qualify for services.
Can I submit an application on behalf of someone else?
Yes! We're happy to accept applications from caregivers, nurses, doctors, colleagues, friends, and family. Please, however, consult with the patient prior to applying to make sure they are comfortable with accepting the service. You will be asked to submit patient information such as your email, name, and address so be sure you have that information available. Applications can be submitted at: cleaningforareason.org/patients/.
What can a patient expect?
Upon being matched with a local professional cleaning partner, the patient will receive two home cleaning sessions at their registered place of residence; one cleaning a month, for two months. Please note that services do not include “deep cleanings” or “spring cleanings.” It is our wish that the cleaning service we provide will help cancer patients and their loved ones focus on their health and well being by removing the burden of maintaining a clean home during a difficult time.
Can I request Always Sparkle Cleaning Service?
Yes! Cleaning services provided to cancer patients are determined by geographical location. If you prefer to have Always Sparkle as your cleaning provider, simply contact Cleaning for a Reason to submit that request. Please note: we are not always able to accommodate such requests due to geographic limitations.
